George Strait is one country artists that mostly everyone is familiar with, country fan or not!  He has been given the well deserved title of King George.  Here are 5 reasons that this name fits.

Over the years many country artists have come and gone.  But over the past 30 plus years, nobody has done it quite like George Strait.  He definitely found the secret to success and ran with it.

1. He is From Texas

This is a no brainer, lol.  George Strait was born and raised in Texas.  I am a little biased, but you can't get any more country than that.  And he has a song about Amarillo!

2. He Has a Bachelor's of Science in Agriculture

Back in 1979, George Strait graduated with a degree in agriculture.  Not only does he sing about the lifestyle, he studied it.

3. He's Had 60 #1 Hits

Not only has he sold over 70million albums, but he has had 60 No. 1 hits.  That is more than any artist in any genre, ever!

4. His Songs Don't Get Old

It doesn't matter how old or new his songs are, they come on and people sing.  His songs can be played over and over and never get old.

5. Traditional Country

With all the butt shaking and crossovers happening, George has stayed true to his country roots. While his music has evolved, he hasn't changed his style of music.  He is traditional country.

There are so many reasons that George Strait deserves the title King of Country, these are my favorite reasons.  He is an incredible artist that has inspired so many in the business.  While he will be missed, at least we have three plus decades of his music to keep us company.
