On July 3rd, a family went to have dinner at a local restaurant.  That is when a 13 year old helped himself to a free sample of a frozen pina colada.  At the age of 13, is it common knowledge that margaritas, pina coladas, and strawberry daiquiris are alcoholic beverages?

I know that every family is different, but at the age of 13 I was fully aware of what beverages contained alcohol.  I think that 13 year olds are a lot smarter than parents think.

Well on July 3rd, Eliza Clemet and her family decided to have dinner at Tango's Taco Shop on Western.  Her 13 year old son went to the restroom and on the way back to the table decided to help himself to a free sample of a frozen mix drink.  He decided to take one back to his mom who realized that the drink contained alcohol.

Upset, Clemet immediately contacted management.  They began blaming each other.  Tangos told Clemet she should keep a better eye on her son.  Clemet believes that Tangos shouldn't have free samples visible to everyone.

I can see both sides of the spectrum, but I side with Tango's Tacos.  First off, the boy is 13.  Second, the frozen drink machine is behind the counter, so what was the kid doing in an employee only area?

I think the boy knew exactly what he was doing.  At the age of 13 kids should already know about drugs, alcohol, sex and a whole lot more.

Here is a video of both sides telling their story.
