There are a lot of really cool actors and actresses joining the Marvel movie universe in 'Thor: The Dark World,' but of all of them, we're most excited to see Adewake Akinnuoye-Agbaje. Best known for playing the mysterious Mr. Eko on 'Lost' and the terrifying Adebisi on HBO's 'Oz,' the phenomenal actor will go toe-to-toe with Chris Hemsworth's Thor as the dark elf warror Algrim and his villainous alter-ego, Kurse. Although most details about the film are on lockdown, he's slipped a few details to the LA Times.

At the risk of delving into spoiler territory, Akinnuoye-Agbaje's character undergoes a transformation during the film...a transformation that involved several hours of makeup every day:

“The outfit weighed about 40 pounds. I’m sure there will be a certain amount of CGI but a good 80% was me in that suit...The outfit informed how I was going to move – the horns – his fighting style as well. It’s almost like he’s made out of stone.”

The coolest take-away from that is that the the character won't be entirely made of pixels -- he'll be a physical character, whose movement and performance is dictated entirely by Akinnuoye-Agbaje. For fans of practical effects, that's exciting stuff. He elaborated further on the process of portraying a powerful comic book villain:

“It’s an amalgamation of a bull and a lava-like creature...He has very animalistic tendencies but with this insatiable and unstoppable power. As an actor, that’s one of the hardest things to embody. You have to realize you are probably the most powerful thing you could imagine. And you have to be that. You can’t pretend, so that when you face Thor, it’s real.”

The rest of the interview delves into the rest of his career (including a role in the recently released 'Bullet to the Head') and is well worth your time. 'Thor: The Dark World' opens on  November 8th.
