Amarillo Man Punches 6 Year Old In The Face

I will be the first one to admit kids can get obnoxious sometimes, but that doesn't mean you cause bodily harm!  This Amarillo man was arrested yesterday for taking it too far!

Summer is out and the kids are cooped up!  That usually means that they are going to get obnoxious from time to time.  Well, 28 year old Phillip David Burnett decided to do what he thought was best and punch a 6 year old in the face.

Police were called out to a home in Southwest area of Amarillo yesterday morning.  A woman told police that her boyfriend punched one of her three children in the mouth.  The child's face was bruised, but no medical attention was needed.

Burnett was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily injury to a family member and injury to a child with intent to cause bodily injury charges.  He was booked into the Randall County Jail with a $5,000 bond.

I don't care what a 6 year old kid is doing or not doing, you don't punch them in the face!  This is never ok.  Take away their toys or ground them.  What do you think?
