If you are traveling near Coulter and I-40 or Ross and I-40 you are careful not to run a red light for fear of getting a ticket.  Well get ready because the Amarillo City Commission has approved the addition of more red light cameras around town.

On Tuesday's City Commission meeting, the new additions were voted a go.  The decision came after reports from the American Traffic Solutions and Amarillo Citizens Advisory Committee.  The reports covered traffic enforcement analysis and traffic counts.

In addition to the cameras already in place, Amarillo will be getting three new ones and the one on 3rd and Pierce will be moved to a new location.  They are to be set in high-risk collision and traffic incident areas.

Here are the new locations:

Amarillo Boulevard at Tascosa Road (Northbound)

Amarillo Boulevard at Fillmore Street (Westbound)

Amarillo Boulevard at Pierce Street (Westbound)

South Taylor Street/Us 287 at 10th Ave. (Southbound)

No word on when the cameras will be installed, but you should probably start driving more carefully.
