It is that time of the year when all kinds of 5Ks start popping up.  Amarillo's Mended Little Hearts has a really cool 5K that happens at night!

For those of you not familiar with Mended Little Hearts, it is a wonderful, not very well known organization in Amarillo.  MLH is an education and support group for people and families living with, surviving, caring for, or remembering those with Congential Heart Disease (CHD) in the Texas, Oklahoma & New Mexico Panhandle Region.

Over 40,000 babies are born each year with a congenital heart defect, making it the most common birth defect in the US.  Mended Little Hearts provides hope and support to families dealing with these issues.

On May 8th, MLH of Amarillo will be holding their annual 5K to raise money for the organization.  This 5K is going to be pretty cool.  It is called 'Heart Glo' and it is going to be at night!  The entire walk will be glow in the dark, the path, the walkers and more. Walkers are invited to dress with lights and glow in the dark materials.

It happens May 8th at John Stiff Park, picnic area #10 at 8pm.  Tommy the Hacker from 96.9 Kiss FM will be DJing the event.  There will be all kinds of fun for the entire family.  To register you can go to active.com.

Come out and support a great cause!
