Move 'em on, head 'e, up! The report from KHOU shows an old-fashioned cattle drive around the Trinity River near Dayton, Texas.

According to the report, there were 500 head of cattle stranded in rising water from the Trinity River. They had to be moved nine miles to safety.

So the whole town basically chipped in to help and got involved. Cowboys and law enforcement teamed up to help the cows move to their new location.

The rescue began early Sunday morning with the water closing in. Owner Pat Hencey's 1,800 acres quickly dwindled down to 50 so time was of the essence.

They took 200 cattle on the journey and after hours of walking, swimming and herding the cattle made it safely to the CMC Rail yard.  The report says many calves were transported by airboat. The cattle will stay there until the waters subside.
