For as much as we've enjoyed 'American Horror Story: Coven''s witchy woes over the dreary depression of 'Asylum' and the domestically disturbed first season, we've certainly missed a few past season stars who have yet to sign on for another round. 'Asylum' had Dylan McDermott as a surprise guest, but will Connie Britton put on a witch hat for 'American Horror Story: Coven'?

We were admittedly surprised when the premiere of 'Coven' came and went without any surprise announcements, given McDermott's casting in 'Asylum' broke the day of the season 2 debut. And while four episodes of the current season have come and gone, Britton tells Rolling Stone that her 'Nashville' commitment may actually allow her to cast a spell or two on 'Coven' later this season:

I hope so. I've actually have been talking to them this season, because they're down in New Orleans and I'm in Nashville. I said, 'Okay, let's see if we can try to figure this out.' As long as we can figure it out with both productions, I'm in. I hope it happens.

Nominated for an Emmy for her season 1 role, Britton remains the largest holdout not to appear in subsequent season of the Ryan Murphy FX horror drama, as on-screen husband McDermott appeared in 'Asylum,' and Taissa Farmiga returned for a central role in 'Coven.' Even Alexandra Breckinridge reappeared for this past week's "Fearful Pranks Ensue," though it remains to be seen if the character will reappear going forward.
