Earlier this morning (8/8/16) Amarillo Police responded to a call about a attempted robbery at the Walgreens on South Western Street.

Reports are saying that the suspect entered the store, headed straight for the pharmacy counter, and demanded an unknown narcotic prescription. The suspect handed a note across the counter that said "no one will be hurt if you cooperate".

The suspect seemed to be unarmed so the Walgreen's employee refused to give the man the prescriptions. The man then left the store quietly and was last seen headed west from Walgreens down Western.

No one was injured in this incident but Amarillo police fear he may strike again.

If you have any information on this attempted robbery or anything about the suspect, please call the police department or Crime Stoppers at 806.374.4400 or you can also go online to amapolice.org
