Did you really think the biggest show on television would be completely absent from the Super Bowl? Of course not! Although there won't be any actual 'The Walking Dead' trailers playing during the big game (you can watch the latest one right here, though), a few Time Warner Cable commercials have borrowed the iconography (and a certain cast member) from the show in an amusing way. Watch them below!
There are a lot of really cool actors and actresses joining the Marvel movie universe in 'Thor: The Dark World,' but of all of them, we're most excited to see Adewake Akinnuoye-Agbaje. Best known for playing the mysterious Mr. Eko on 'Lost' and the terrifying Adebisi on HBO's 'Oz,' the phenomenal actor will go toe-to-toe with Chris Hemsworth's Thor as the dark elf warror Algrim and his villainous alter-ego, Kurse. Although most details about the film are on lockdown, he's slipped a few details to the LA Times.
When 'The Fast and the Furious' came out in 2001, it was a hit, but it certainly wasn't enough of a hit for anyone to predict that it would spawn five increasingly successful and popular sequels. With 'Fast & Furious 6' hitting theaters in a few months, it has the tough job of living up to the massively successful 'Fast Five,' but with much of the cast and director Justin Lin returning, we have a good feeling about it. Although you'll get the first trailer during the Super Bowl tomorrow, you can start getting excited by taking a look at the first teaser poster.
Make no mistake: this was a slow and bad weekend at the box office, an example of the January doldrums at their absolute worst. However, this was probably the only environment where a film titled 'Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters' could have flourished, so at least someone is happy.
With each passing awards ceremony, the Academy's snubbing of Ben Affleck for Best Director looks increasingly ridiculous. Some thought that 'Argo' winning Best Picture and Best DIrector at the Golden Globes was something of a fluke, but now that the critically acclaimed box office hit has won big at the Producer's Guild of America awards, you may want to shuffle around your Oscar bets.
You'd think that her commitment to the ninth (and final?) season of 'How I Met Your Mother' would get in the way, but it looks like 'Avengers' star Cobie Smulders may be joining the cast of ABC and Marvel's new series 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' That is, if the pilot goes to series. But c'mon: how could it not?
We knew that 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' was going to be a time travel story that would somehow merge the universes of the original 'X-Men' films and 'X-Men: First Class,' but the most recent casting news suggests something more epic than we could have possibly imagined. A cavalcade of past mutant superheroes have officially joined the cast, deepening an already absurdly great ensemble.
Unless you've been living under a rock, you've heard the news: JJ Abrams is officially directing 'Star Wars: Episode VII.' Even if you didn't hear it, you surely felt the rumble that shook the entire planet after the news caused the entire internet to break in half. While fans and critics alike debated what this meant for the 'Star Wars' franchise, another question arose. With Abrams departing for a galaxy far far away, what was going to happen to the 'Star Trek' franchise?
Let's face it: no one cuts trailers quite like HBO. In an age where we've seemingly forgotten that trailers and TV spots are advertisements because they're put together so artfully, HBO continues to be leaps and bounds ahead of the competition. Thankfully, their content tends to live up to the marketing. Their newly released Winter Preview promo (which you can watch below) reminds us why they're worth the subscription cost.
There are few actors as hardworking and reliably great as Leonardo DiCaprio and there are fewer with such discerning taste. After all, not every actor out there has managed to work with James Cameron, Quentin Tarantino, Christopher Nolan, Sam Mendes, Ridley Scott, Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese. Filmmakers, audiences and critics alike all seem to love him with equal fervor...which means the news that he's taking a break from acting is enough to make us a little sad.
How is it that the new TV spot for 'Oblivion' somehow manages to look more epic and exciting than full theatrical trailer? There's no denying it -- there's tons of scope and promise in this 40 second spot, enough to actually make us excited for a movie by the guy who made the sleeping pill known as 'Tron Legacy.' Watch the trailer embedded below.
The first episode of 'Game of Thrones' season three is only two months away and we still haven't seen a proper trailer. For fans of Westeros and its many doomed inhabitants, this is akin to being tortured by Gregor Clegane within the terrifying walls of Harrenhal, but we'll probably be okay if we stick together and don't despair. Anyway, you can assuage your anticipation for the new season with a brand new "Invitation to the Set" featurette, which gives us a glimpse at many new characters and locations.
