Best Places To Go Swimming In Amarillo – McWilley’s Top 5
The summer season hasn't even started yet but Amarillo has already hit the 100 degree mark multiple times. Plus we haven't seen any rain; so our town is extreme dry. Thankfully we have a variety of different locations where you and your family can soak everything from head to toe. In no particular order here's my Top 7 Amarillo pools to stay cool in this summer.
Southwest pool - 4800 Bell Street
Southwest Pool is one of three pools managed by Amarillo's Parks and Recreation department. It has a capacity of 598 and is located in John Stiff Memorial park.
Cost: 13 & Up = $3; 12 & Under = $2
Hours:
Monday - Friday Noon to 5pm
Saturday - Noon to 6pm
Sunday - 1pm to 5pm
Busiest Time: 2pm - 3pm
Concession Stand: Yes (no outside food allowed)

southeast pool - 34th & osage
Southeast Pool is another pool managed by Amarillo's Parks and Recreation department. It has a capacity of 662 and is located just south of 34th & Osage.
Cost: 13 & Up = $3; 12 & Under = $2

Monday - Friday Noon to 5pm
Saturday - Noon to 6pm
Sunday - 1pm to 5pm
Busiest Time: 2pm - 3pm

Amarillo Town Club (s.w.) - 7700 Hillside
The staff of The Amarillo Town Club Southwest (Hillside Location) outdoor pool pride themselves in having a very clean, safe family oriented pool with water slides, a It has a capacity of about 150 and includes a zero-entry kids zone and morning and night lap swimming.

amarillo town club - 4514 Cornell St
The Amarillo Town Club (Cornell Location) outdoor pool is a great place to cool off on the water slides, diving boards spraygrounds and it provides a great zero-entry kids zone. It has a capacity of about 150.

Shores Pool - 5211 Emory Court
Shores Pool is free to those who pay dues to the Shores Homeowners Association. If you don't live in the Shores neighborhood you can get an outside membership.It has capacity of 350 but usually has no more than 30 people in the pool.

WTAMU Indoor Pool - 2501 4th Ave, Canyon
West Texas A&M's Indoor Pool is located in the Virgil Henson Activities Center. It has slides, a zero depth kids zone, lazy river, vortex whirlpool and lap swimming all within a climate controlled environment. It has a capacity of 300.
Cost: Day Pass - $5; -or- Membership
Hours: Monday - Friday: 12:30pm - 8pm
Saturday & Sunday: 2pm - 8pm

Splash Amarillo - 1415 Sunset drive
Splash Amarillo is our very own water park complete with lazy river, wave pool, two speed water slides, three winding water slides, the Side Winder and a kiddy pool.
Cost: General Admission is $19 - All Pricing
Hours: Monday-Saturday: 12pm - 7pm
Sunday: 12pm - 6pm
Concession Stand: Yes, and outside food is available but no alcohol or glass containers. There is a cooler fee.

One area pool that is not listed is Thompson Pool located in Thompson Park at NE 24th & Dumas Highway. It is currently closed for renovations and I don't know when it will be re-opened.
