In their latest video message to fans, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert dropped a bombshell: They’ve decided to collaborate on a full-length album.

But don’t go getting excited for a record of his ‘n’ her duets — as it turns out, it won’t be their album. Instead, they’re working together to produce the next studio set from their friend, Neal McCoy.

Shelton and Lambert broke the news in a video message to fans that starts off with the two of them seated at a soundboard. “Miranda and I finally decided to make a record together,” Shelton begins, before McCoy bursts into the scene, laughing: “It’s me! It’s my record! Hahaha!”

“I’m gonna need a drink,” Shelton sighs. Lambert nods, “It’s gonna be a long week.”

While the husband-and-wife duo are best known as recording artists, it’s only natural that McCoy would turn to them for his first album of new material since 2005′s ‘That’s Life’ — the three are close enough friends that McCoy performed at Shelton and Lambert’s wedding last May.
