Blake Shelton is staying put. The singer told Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb on Today on Tuesday (May 24) that he is not leaving The Voice, despite rumors that he has moved on from the televised reality singing competition.

"I’ve heard many rumors that I’ve been fired," Shelton admits. "I don’t plan on going anywhere. I’d like to stay there as long as I can. Of course I'm going to stay there!"

Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys will serve as judges next season alongside Shelton and Adam Levine.

"The moron is coming back, too," Shelton says of Levine. "It's going to be a lot of fun."

In addition to his new album, If I'm Honest, Shelton will be featured in the upcoming animated film Angry Birds. He is also keeping busy filming The Voice, as well as has several tour dates lined up this fall. Between all of this, Shelton reveals he and girlfriend Gwen Stefani spend a lot of time together, since the show has recently been live and filmed in L.A. He also hopes to catch a few tour dates of hers this summer.

While on Today, the country star further explained his duet with Stefani, "Go Ahead and Break My Heart," as being about choosing to go forward in a relationship despite the possibility of it ending on a sour note.

“It was hard to kind of let our guards down again,” he says. “It’s like, ‘I know something bad is going to happen, because it always does, so let’s just get it over with now.'"
