With so much violence going on throughout the world, it is common sense that we try and protect our children.  A local school district is doing just that.

Bushland I.S.D. has decided to step up and do more to protect their students.  It all began last week when Potter County Commissioners approved the hiring of an additional deputy to serve as a school liaison officer.  However, since the district is responsible for paying a bulk of the officer's salary, they had to approve it.

And approve they did.  A armed Sheriff's Deputy will now be on campus.  He/she will be able to help with discipline, drug control, and any other type of violence.  The school is also taking extra steps to help with security.  They are also going to improve entrances and fencing at all of the campuses.

With all of the additions the school is looking at spending around one million dollars.  While that may seem like a lot of money, your child's life is priceless!
