Palo Duro Canyon State Park will host Christmas In the Canyon, a fun and unique holiday event, on December 17th.

During the holiday season, there are plenty of Christmas events to keep your family busy. However, it can get monotonous when every event revolves around staring at Christmas lights and trying to keep your kids from misbehaving.

Thanks to Palo Duro Canyon, there's an opportunity for you to do something different this year.

Christmas In the Canyon is a special event that you don't want to miss. Admission to the park is free, as long as you bring a food item to donate to the High Plains Food Bank. You can take your picture with Santa and enjoy hot chocolate and music at the Mack Dick Group Pavilion. Then, you can take a light hike on the Pioneer Nature Trail and admire hot air balloons as they decorate the canyon.

The event will take place from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. It's going to be chilly, so make sure you bundle up!
