Dierks Bentley returns to the top of the country singles chart this week for hte 10th time in his career with his latest hit, ’5-1-5-0.’ The tune hit No. 1 on both the Billboard and Mediabase / Country Aircheck charts, after inching its way up through the Top 5 over the past few weeks.

Bentley’s fans have been eating the song up since its release, and have been acting, well, crazy when he gets to the tune during his live shows.

“People are doing the hand signals 5-1-5-0 and people [are] wearing the t-shirts,” Bentley says with a smile. “I keep on getting handcuffs thrown up on stage … I’m not really sure how that ties into the song, but I got a pair of like handcuffs tossed up the other night that had like little like pink feathers wrapped around them! It’s funny. The song’s definitely taken a life of its own, and that’s what you want. You want people to hear it and just bring as much out of it as they possibly can.”

However, as a fan of country music himself, Bentley can relate to how his fans have reacted to his song. “There’s a lot of songs that got me into country music, like ‘Chattahoochee’ [by] Alan Jackson,” notes Bentley. “That song wasn’t meant for anything, just to have a good time, and there’s nothing wrong with that every now and then to put a song out like that.”

Bentley co-wrote ’5-1-5-0′ along with Brett Beavers and Jim Beavers. Congrats guys on yet another No. 1 hit!
