Barry Lynch is a twelve-year veteran examiner of the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), and is now the CEO and co-owner of Waypoint Advisory Services, Inc., a credit union auditing and consulting firm which serves credit unions in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado, Ohio, and South Carolina. Barry attended West Texas A&M University, where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with emphasis in Finance, followed by a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Texas Tech university. He and his wife Judy have been married since 2000 and together they have one son Thomas. Both Barry and Judy are, Amarillo natives. Early in Barry's career with NCUA he encountered several high priority fraud cases which catapulted him into his specialty designation as a Recordkeeping and Internal Controls (RIC) Subject Matter Examiner. Before leaving NCUA, Barry was involved in over thirteen federal fraud cases throughout the United States. Barry has received many rewards and acknowledgments within his industry including NCUA's Examiner of the Year designation for 2002.Since leaving the NCUA in 2010, Barry, with help from his partner Greg Schmidt, has been able to squeeze out a remarkable amount of growth from his company Waypoint, averaging over 23% per year. Since winning the Enterprise Challenge in 2012, Waypoint has created two new full time positions, expanded into three new states, purchased the Russell Office Building here in Amarillo, and increased his total sales by more than 25%.In addition, following the birth of their disabled son in 2005, Barry and his wife Judy founded a charity organization called Tri to Make a Difference, Inc., which raises money for the local chapter of the Children’s Miracle Network. The organization hosts an annual triathlon at Lake Tanglewood, and since its inception, they have raised nearly half a million dollars. Their son Thomas has been awarded the legal naming rights to the children’s pediatric courtyard inside the newly remodeled pediatric wing of the BSA Hospital.
