Fourth of July 064th of July is just around the corner and the ban on fireworks in Potter and Randall county has been lifted. This means that people will be allowed to launch fireworks in the county lines.

This doesn't mean you can launch  them in the city limits, but in rural areas (with permission), they are allowed. There are things to keep in mind though. Just because the ban has been lifted doesn't mean that there is no danger.

There is still much underlying brush and it ignites very easily. When launching fireworks keep in mind the dangers and be smart about it. One thing that we used to do is actually get a garden hose and soak the field that we would be setting them off near. We never had a fire, but it is always a possibility.

Enjoy the 4th of July and whatever activities you are taking part in to celebrate our nation's independence.
