Four Loko- Oh NO!
The amped up alcoholic beverage known as Four Loko has been banned from stores but not to worry, it’s found a new use…Auto fuel. Yep, what many cheap drunks and minors have been chugging has the power to fuel an automobile. Ironically, the high-alcohol, caffeinated malt beverages sale for around $2.69 which is about the average price of gasoline these days. The FDA issued warning letters to four companies on Nov. 17 saying the beverages’ combination of caffeine and alcohol can lead to a “wide-awake drunk.” The agency called the caffeine an “unsafe food additive.” Health experts have raised concerns that the caffeine can mask a person’s perception of intoxication, leading them to drink more than they typically would before passing out. Experts guess many of those who consume the drinks are college-age and underage drinkers. See what’d I tell ya, cheap drunks and minors, thats just another way of saying college-age lol. The banned Four Loko’s are headed for MXI Enterprises , one of three facilities in the U.S. that recycle ethanol.MXI distills the alcohol from the drinks, then sells the fuel to be blended into gasoline. It sells the aluminum cans to a recycler. It takes about 30 days until it’s back on the shelf as another beer can. So, what have we learned ? Just because it can fuel a car does not mean that it should fuel you.
