Concerts like this don’t happen without the awesome support and audience that showed up last Thursday. Tyler Farr and Josh Thompson rocked the house and set the stage. Rodney Atkins came out and blew the roof off the place! From ‘Take the Backroad’ to ‘Farmers Daughter’, the auditorium was going nuts.

When you’re young, it seems like nothing is more fun than dressing up and going house to house trick-or-treating. When you’re older, it’s all about the costume contest and a Halloween parties.

The ‘Boo Ball’ was no disappointment in that aspect. Hundreds of amazing costumes showed up for the costume contest and other people won big cash smashing our Halloween pinatas! We literally gave away thousands of dollars in cash and prizes.

So, you just might want to make your plans for next year and stay tuned for information about the next Halloween Boo Ball Bash! Thanks to all those who came out and made this event such a big success.

The 2011 American Country Awards were a huge success, with many of country music’s hottest stars traveling 2,000 miles from Nashville to Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena just to show their faces on the FOX network. Unfortunately, some of the outfits that the artists packed to wear to the event were not as big of a hit, which quickly landed them on our worst dressed list, as seen in this gallery of pictures.

Kristin Chenoweth, for one, did a great job co-hosting the big awards show with Trace Adkins — and we commend her for that — but the low-cut, emerald green gown that she wore on the red carpet was less than impressive. To be blunt, the Broadway singer’s ensemble seemed more homemade than designer, and not in the quirky do-it-yourself kind of way.

Fan favorite Miranda Lambert found herself in a similar blunder at Monday’s ACAs. While we typically love the ‘Baggage Claim’ singer’s choice of dress, her bedazzled black dress and big hair was more of a step back into the ’90s than a fashion forward move.

Representing the guys, Craig Campbell walked the red carpet in a mess of colors and fabrics, sporting a black cowboy hat, casual teal button-up with more of an evening wear velvet jacket, as well as a pair of strangely starched dark jeans. Our hats off to the ‘Fish’ singer, but we just weren’t feeling it. The same goes to Toby Keith, who has a bad style habit he just can’t seem to break and Thompson Square‘s Keifer Thompson, who, with his shiny disco attire, was clearly hoping to let his wife steal the spotlight — which she did.

Santa’s Stash

The Illinois State Police recently arrested a woman for drug possession. The 58 year-old was driving from Pennsylvania to California when officers stopped her and found 28 pounds of pot wrapped up as Christmas gifts.

The woman’s  mother was also in the car and apparently believed the presents were legitimate.

Pickles In the Gym

Yahoo claims pickle juice is replacing Gatorade as America’s most reliable sports drink. Pickle Juice Sport founder Brandon Brooks says he provides his product to nearly two dozen teams and more than 100 professional athletes. His sales are up by 54% from last year alone.

I’ll try it. But I don’t think pickle juice is going to ‘taste’ refreshing after a run. I had cucumber water before–it was different. But I’m not a big fan of cucumbers.

They Want To Steal Your Face–book Info

Facebook users are being warned about a new Email scam that steals personal information. A fake message from Facebook informs users ‘their account will be deleted in 24 hours unless they provide email, password and credit card details’.DO NOT click on it. Or anything that says;

“LAST WARNING: Your account is considered to violated (sic) the policies that are considered annoying or insulting to Facebook users.”

Don’t click on things from people you don’t know. Think of this as not talking to strangers online. Also, don’t put your phone number, address, or anything like that on your facebook profile. It’s just safer.

Someone who is quite insane–or confused–or high is Miley Cyrus.  Apparently she likes to tell inside jokes about smoking weed and Bob Marley. Also on the show today we discovered that there is a website that will help you breakup with your partner for a price. That’s taking the Dear John to a whole new level.

Miley’s A Stoner – Or Maybe Not – But Probably

On her 19^th birthday Miley Cyrus said she was a big stoner. Then her rep came out yesterday and said she is not a pothead and her references to Bob Marley and smoking weed at her recent birthday party were an inside joke.

Inside joke? Inside of a bong joke is more like it. You don’t just go out and say, “I’m a big stoner,” just for fun.

Here is my guess as to what is going on. This is all speculation. Miley probably does partake in the Devil’s Wheat. When she said she was a stoner, she was probably being truthful. But Miley has an image to uphold. An image that says, “I can dress provocative at my concerts, but I don’t smoke illegal substances.” Miley’s people want her to keep that image so that she can sell tickets and merchandise to the teenie bops that adore her. If Miley starts saying she’s a stoner, the teenie bop moms won’t let their children go to her concerts and Miley and the record label behind her lose money. Again this is all speculation

We are now in the final days of November. That means a few things. 1) You survived Thanksgiving. 2) You made it past Black Friday.

This was the first year I took part in early bird shopping. I stood in line at Target for two hours and left empty handed. I also witnessed a near fight at a Ashley Furniture but nothing came of it.

Some Black Friday shoppers witnessed zombies walking around and other shoppers smelt something foul. What they smelt–was the adult diaper from the person in front of them. No I’m not kidding.

Black Friday Brings Out The Best in People

Retail sales on Black Friday climbed 6.6% this year to an estimated $11.4 billion. Online sales were up 39.3% on Thanksgiving Day and 24.3% on Black Friday compared to last year.

Sales of energy drinks jumped over the weekend as shoppers downed them to stay awake for early Black Friday store openings.  Some shoppers survived by snacking on Thanksgiving leftovers while waiting for stores to open.  A select few wore adult diapers so they wouldn’t lose their premium place in line at certain electronics stores.

Really? Adult diapers. That’s going to far. I feel bad for the people behind them. Not only did they brave the cold early morning temperature. They had to suffer through the smell of digested early morning coffee.  Yummy. Here’s a few pictures I took of my Black Friday adventures.

Zombies Want To Save Money Too

A zombie was arrested at the Capital City Mall in Lower Allen Township, Pennsylvania on Black Friday. After receiving complaints from businesses and other customers, mall security asked the “zombie shoppers” to either remove their make-up or leave. Police said all of the zombies complied except a woman, who kept walking around and moaning. She was charged with misdemeanor trespass. The zombie protesters were peaceful, walked in pairs, and at no time were disruptive to shoppers.

You can’t arrest zombies! You have to destroy all brain activity. I don’t care if they were acting peacefully. In order to survive the hoard you have to shoot first and check to see if it’s makeup later.

BANG! We Were Here First

A man fired a gun outside a North Carolina mall around 2 a.m. on Friday. As shoppers fled, the man and his friends ran inside the mall so they could be the first to take advantage of Black Friday sales.

If the guy had used a recording of a gun going off. I’d say this was a good idea. But since he used a real gun he’s an idiot. The only cell this guy saw was at the jailhouse.

One area pool that is not listed is Thompson Pool located in Thompson Park at NE 24th & Dumas Highway. It is currently closed for renovations and I don’t know when it will be re-opened.

A gathering of country fans anywhere means of a whole lot of fancy cowboy boots – especially here in Texas. No one one group of people appears to go bootless – you’ll see everyone from teenagers holding hands to the more distinguished folks sitting back in lounge chairs sporting ‘em.

The Taste of Country BBQ Nationals, which got underway yesterday, proved to be the perfect opportunity for folks in Amarillo to show off their best boots. We snapped the best ones we could find.
