Joey Feek urged her husband Rory to fly to Los Angeles for the Grammy Awards on Monday, but he refused. Instead, the couple's daughters will be in the audience, and along with Joey + Rory's manager, they’ll accept the award if the duo wins.

In his most recent This Life I Live blog post, Rory Feek shares that he’ll join family at Joey’s bedside to watch the 2016 Grammys, where Joey + Rory are nominated in the Best Country Duo/Group Performance category. Heidi and Hopie — Rory's daughters from a previous marriage — left for L.A. Friday morning and will represent the couple … “Seeing and even meeting some of their musical heroes and having a wonderful time I hope," Rory writes. "And raising a glass and toasting to their mom and dad and this extraordinary, ordinary life we are all living.”

Rory won’t leave his wife, especially as she inches closer to ending her long cancer battle. She even bought him a plane ticket, but he canceled it.

"I have done many foolish things and made lots of mistakes in my life, but this isn’t going to be one of them," he insists. "Instead, I will be sitting beside her and cheering on Little Big Town, and Blake Shelton and Charles and all the talented folks who are nominated in our category and others."

Should “If I Needed You” win, the girls win make the acceptance speech Rory will hesitantly write this weekend. Joey will sign off on his remarks, and while they won’t be there, they’ll be there on Monday night (Feb. 15). The 2016 Grammys start at 8PM ET on CBS.

Joey Feek ended cancer treatments in October and was given just months to live. The singer concedes she's exceeded all expectations and is nearing her goal of living through the Grammys, the release of their album of hymns — out Friday — and daughter Indiana's second birthday.
