It looks like there’s a little bit more authenticity coming to ABC’s ‘Nashville.’ Former ‘According to Jim’ star Kimberly Williams-Paisley has joined the show in a role that will recur over a multi-episode arc. The performer not only lives in Nashville, but knows the ropes, as she is also married to country star Brad Paisley.

‘Nashville’ stars former ‘Friday Night Lights’ lead Connie Britton as Rayna Jaymes, a 40-something country star with a family whose career is beginning to fade. ‘Heroes’ star Hayden Panettiere plays Juliette Barnes, a young, manipulative singer on the rise, and the show explores the tension between the two women, their career ambitions, and how their work spills over into their personal lives.

According to Deadline, Williams-Paisley will portray Peggy Samper, a former co-worker and girlfriend of Rayna’s husband Teddy Conrad, played by Eric Close. That can only serve to complicate things more, since Rayna also works with an old flame — her band leader.

‘Nashville’ debuts on Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 10PM ET on ABC.
