Lucy Hale takes sexy to a whole new level on the September 2014 cover of Cosmopolitan. The actress-turned-country-star stuns in a black cutout dress on the front of the issue, while inside she discusses her venture into country music.

In addition Hale opens up about how superficial Hollywood can be and her 'Fifty Shades of Grey' audition ... but we still can't get over that cover photo! That hair, those legs! She looks fabulous.

Hale's transition to music was not an easy one, and she was met with a lot of critics.

"So many people didn't want to touch the project with a 10-foot pole," the 'You Sound Good to Me' singer explains in the issue. "Literally, I had people laughing and saying, 'You're making an album? Good luck.' ... But if you sit down and talk music with me for 10 minutes, you know that's my passion."

That's something Hale hasn't strayed from, as she told Taste of Country last month, "I started out in music and I’ve been an avid country music fan since as long as I can remember and acting took off."

Of course, she admits she wouldn't be where she is without 'Pretty Little Liars,' and with that comes the position of role model, even if she didn't intend to be one. Hale wants little girls to know they don't truly look how they do on the show.

"'[Pretty Little Liars]' is about how we look too. That's terrifying sometimes because you're breaking out or you feel gross and you still have to be in front of the camera," she says. "We'll post pictures on Instagram and people will be like, 'Y'all are so flawless.' Little do they know it's fake hair, fake eyelashes and a good filter. Little girls see that and think they have to be like that."
