We are just 12 days away from Christmas so summertime is not on a lot of peoples minds. But Hollywood wants to give you warm thoughts and let you know that Men In Black 3 and G.I. Joe Retaliation will be heating up the big screen.

Men In Black 3

First to hit theaters on Memorial Day, May 25, is Men In Black 3. Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith are back to keep earth safe from the "Scum of the Universe."

We were first introduce to the Men in Black franchise in the summer of 1997. In the first film we met K, Tommy Lee Jones, who was looking to recruit J, Will Smith. Hilarity and aliens ensued and the movie grossed $587 million worldwide. I remember Burger King was selling Men In Black sunglasses so you could eat your meal and "look good" doing it.

Then in 2002 Men in Black 2 hit theaters in July. It was a commercial success grossing just under $442 million worldwide. But a lot of people said, "It's not as good as the first one." I enjoyed the film but I'm not everyone.  Now we have a trailer for the third installment and I have to say, it's looks good.

G.I. Joe Retaliation

The Joes sequel is set for release on June 29th, 2012. The story continues where 2009's G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra with a mostly new cast except for Channing Tatum returning as Duke, Ray Park as Snake Eyes and Byung Hun-lee as Stormshadow.

So what new faces will we see? Well there are a total of eight new characters but two names really stick out to me.  Dwayne Johnson as Roadblock and Bruce Willis as General Joe Colton. I'm impressed. While I found G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra entertaining, I wasn't sure sequel was possible. Much less a sequel with Dwayne Johnson and Bruce Willis. The trailer looks good, but I'm a sucker for explosions and fight scene. Plus I was collector of G.I. Joe action figures.
