Miranda Lambert has released a music video for her newest single, "We Should Be Friends." Readers can press play above to see the colorful clip.

Lambert's "We Should Be Friends" video opens with the singer, dog in tow, heading into the small-town Wanda's House of Beauty, sporting a jean jacket with "Music is Medicine" embroidered on the back. She's looking slightly disheveled, and earns a few skeptical stares from fellow salon clients, but by the end of the clip, Lambert's been pampered and primped up ... and charmed the others.

“We Should Be Friends” appears on the first disc of Lambert’s double album The Weight of These Wings. Written by the singer alone, the upbeat song finds her musing on the qualities that make her … well, her — qualities that she wouldn’t mind also finding in a friend.

“I don’t know you well, but I know that look,” Lambert sings in the chorus of “We Should Be Friends,” “And I can judge the cover ’cause I wrote the book / On losing sleep and gaining weight / On pain and shame and crazy trains …”

“We Should Be Friends” follows “Vice,” Lambert’s first single from The Weight of These Wings. The country star recently kicked off her 2017 Highway Vagabond Tour, with dates scheduled throughout the spring.
