In their first trip to to the NBA Finals, the Oklahoma City Thunder storm past the Miami Heat 105-94 to take game 1 of the 2012 NBA Finals in Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City.

The young star Kevin Durant lead the Thunder to victory with his 36 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Lebron James lead the Miami Heat with 30 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Russel Westbrook added 27 points and 11 assists for the Thunder. Dwayne Wade added 19 points and 8 assists for the Heat.

The Thunder were predicted to win the NBA Finals by most analyst. In all honesty I was kind of thinking the Heat would be to much for the Thunder. But after watching last nights game I feel more comfortable saying the Heat could take the series. Granted this is only game 1, there is still plenty more basketball to be played meaning anything could happen, especially when it comes to Lebron James.

Game 2 of the NBA Finals will be on Thursday (June 14) at 8pm CT on ABC.
