A couple of weeks ago the city of Amarillo had issue a ban on using cell phones while driving though out the city, and if caught the police would be giving you up to a $200 ticket for the new law.

Well now there a group that has started two petitions. One to overturn the ban on using your cell phones while driving, and the other is to demand the City Commission meetings be moved from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Group leader Dave Kossey says " he wants to roll back the ordinance banning use of hand-held devices to shifting it just banning texting while driving to an outright ban. As for starting meetings at 5:30 p.m. rather than 3 p.m. will allow more residents to attend if they want to knowing most people are out of work by then".

Kossey also wants people to use their voice to influence the commissioners on personal choices to. So he has posted locations around the city to sign its petitions, and if you wanna know where you could go and sign the petitions. Click here.
