Reba McEntire is asking her fans for their prayers after her older brother suffered a stroke.

The country icon reached out to fans via Facebook on Saturday (May 16). "My big brother, Pake, had back surgery on Thursday, May 13th. Although the surgery went well, he had a stroke later that evening," she writes. "The stroke caused blood on the brain and swelling. Early this morning, Saturday, they performed a surgery to relieve pressure on his brain. He is currently in ICU, stable and recovering."

"We really appreciate all your thoughts and prayers," she adds. "We will keep you all posted. Keep sending your prayers! Thanks a bunch!"

Country fans will remember Pake McEntire from "Savin' My Love for You," a Top 5 hit from his 1986 debut album, Too Old to Grow Up Now. He scored other hits during his run at RCA, including "Heart to Heart," which featured his famous sister. In later years he also provided background vocals for Reba, but more recently he has retired from the music business to work on his ranch.

It's been a tough year for the McEntire clan; their father, Clark, passed away in October at the age of 86.
