Reba McEntire is in good spirits after announcing her split from husband Narvel Blackstock after 26 years of marriage, according to her former co-star.

Melissa Peterman played opposite the country superstar and actress on the sitcom Reba, which ran for six seasons on the WB and the CW. McEntire stunned fans on Monday (Aug. 3) when she confirmed that she and Blackstock are ending their relationship, which was long considered one of the happiest in country music.

“Despite this being the end of their marriage, they continue to support each other,” a statement on McEntire's website reads. “They have worked together for 35 years and will continue to do so. They have asked that you respect their privacy during this time.”

According to Peterman, McEntire is not letting the breakup get her down.

“I’ve talked to her and she’s doing great,” she tells Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet at an ABC event to promote her current series, Baby Daddy.

"Beyond what she said in her statement, I love her, and I wish them both well," she adds. "That's all I can say, basically. I love her."

Peterman and McEntire recently reunited when the country star filmed a guest appearance on the season finale of Baby Daddy, which is set to air Wednesday night (Aug. 5). McEntire has also just released a new single, the ironically-titled "Until They Don't Love You." It's the second single from her current album, Love Somebody, which she released in April under a new deal with Nash Icon Records.
