Can you imagine parking your car at the airport and taking off on a business trip or vacation and upon your return you find your car destroyed.  Not only is it destroyed, it was destroyed by snow.   That is exactly what happened at the Detroit Metro Airport.

A letter was taped to the window of the car for the owner to find.

The letter reads:

Dear Valued Customer,

This letter is to inform your that your vehicle has been involved in an accident while parked in our parking facility.  Our snow removal contractor accidentally dropped snow on your vehicle.  We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience that this may have caused.  We have filed a police report and obtained all the necessary information that you will need to file a claim.  We ask that you please call our parking office [number blacked out] upon arrival so that we could finish our claim.

Once again, I would like to apologize for the inconvenience.  I'm confident that our sub-contractor [company name blacked out] will do everything to correct and resolve this unfortunate accident.  Below are information that you would need.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact me [number blacked out].

I would love to know how the owner of this vehicle reacted.  Were they upset?  Did they just laugh?  How would you have reacted if your found your vehicle in this state?

I don't live in Detroit and have never been to the airport or the airport parking garage.  However, I can't help but wonder, does this much snow end up in the parking garage.  This garage looks covered and it has many levels, so how did this much snow get accidentally dropped on a car in a parking garage?
