Last month Longview native and an ACM nominee Sunny Sweeney opened several dates for Miranda Lambert's 'Platinum Tour.'

Rolling Stone named her album ‘Provoked’ a Top 10 Country Album for 2014. Oh, and she plays the Grand Ole Opry regularly.

Over the weekend the heralded singer and her husband were invited to attend the White House Correspondent's Dinner.

Who knew Sweeney was such a fan of "Modern Family?"

So what is the White House Correspondent's Dinner? According to Wikipedia: "It was begun in 1920, has become a Washington, D.C. tradition and is usually attended by the President and Vice President. Fifteen presidents have attended at least one WHCA dinner, beginning with Calvin Coolidge in 1924. The dinner is traditionally held on the evening of the last Saturday in April at the Washington Hilton."

Sunny’s newest single, ‘My Bed,’ is out to radio now. It’s the second release from Provoked, and features Will Hoge.

Cannot even tell you how excited this made me. For those of you that know me, I don't watch a ton of tv but I do not...
