Syfy Greenlights ‘Legion’ TV Series ‘Dominion’
The other day we heard that Syfy had inched closer to adapting Terry GIlliam–Bruce Willis classic ‘12 Monkeys‘ into a TV series, and while that project remains in play, the cable network has given an official pilot order to another recognizable genre adaptation. 2010 supernatural actioner ‘Legion’ will find new life on Syfy as ‘Dominion,’ but what will change from silver to small screen?
News of the adaptation comes from Deadline, who clarifies that ‘Dominion’ will take its base from characters of the film and produce a 90-minute pilot/movie directed by the feature’s director and co-writer Scott Stewart. ‘Sons of Anarchy‘ writer Vaun Wilmott will pen the script for Syfy’s adaptation of the film, which we sadly doubt Paul Bettany to have any involvement in.
The network describes ‘Dominion’ as “an epic supernatural action drama set 25 years in the future after a war between an army of angels and mankind has transformed the world.” The story will follow a rebellious young soldier who discovers himself to be the unlikely savior of all humanity.
Meanwhile, Syfy reportedly remains inches away from either a series or pilot order for ’12 Monkeys,’ along with a number of other projects ranging from swashbuckling space adventure ‘Clandestine’ to Marti Noxon and M. Night Shyamalan‘s ‘Proof,’ the story of a billionaire tech genius’s son offering a large reward for anyone who finds evidence of life after death.
No word on casting or production for ‘Dominion,’ but what say you? Are you interested to see ‘Legion’ adapted for the small screen, even with the movie’s general failure? Watch the original trailer and give us your thoughts in the comments!
