Eli Young Band

A baby girl has officially joined Eli Young Band‘s brood. Frontman Mike Eli and his wife, Kacey, welcomed Kline Olivia Diaz on Monday (July 30) in Dallas. The little girl, who is the first child for the couple, weighed in at 6 lbs. and 15 oz. She was expected to arrive in August.

It’s clear that Will Hoge is enjoying being out on the road with Dierks Bentley and Eli Young Band. The Nashville singer-songwriter is taking part in the Country and Cold Cans Tour with the country talents, dishing up a serving of unfamiliar face with a side of refreshing talent night after night.

This summer will be action-packed with all of the high-profile tours going on in country music. One of the most anticipated treks, however, is Rascal Flatts‘ American Band Tour, also featuring Eli Young Band, Little Big Town and Edens Edge.

Eli Young Band have literally seen their career catapult onto center stage in the past few months. After their single ‘Crazy Girl’ became their first No.1 hit, the four-man country outfit snagged an ACM Award for Song of the Year with the same smash hit, making an underdog story to be remembered. The Eli Young Band may only be two singles deep into their current album, August 2011′s ‘Life at Best,’ but the guys have already gotten the thinking wheels turning regarding their forthcoming third album.

For some country music fans, Eli Young Band is a new group of guys on the rise. What they may not know is that the band has been hard at work building their career for well over a decade, even though they just celebrated their first No. 1 single with ‘Crazy Girl.’

On Thursday I had the opportunity to talk to lead singer of the Eli Young Band, Mike Eli.  He was at home spending time with his wife and their dogs while enjoying some time away from the road. Eli told me that he and the rest of the Eli Young Band while they have been busy, "We're feeling pretty good."

The Eli Young Band's fifth album "Life At Best" has finally been released to the public. The album has 14 new tracks including  the bands first Gold record "Crazy Girl." Last week I had the opportunity to chat to Chris Thompson the drummer for the Eli Young Band.
