At a press conference this morning in San Francisco, Apple introduced the iPhone 5. The latest version of the best-selling smartphone has been highly anticipated ever since the somewhat disappointing release of the previous iteration, the iPhone 4s.

Apple’s Siri app turned a lot of heads and ears when the iPhone 4S first hit the shelves. The voice controlled app looked and sounded like something from an Arthur C. Clarke novel. However, it may not bring us any closer to having a real HAL 9000 computer (and considering what happened in ’2001: A Space Odyssey,’ maybe we should be thankful for that).

“It’s a good size, really,” iPhone owners have told Apple. “It’s OK that it’s small. It’s more about how you use it,” they added reassuringly. But the insecure company isn’t having any of it. It’s paying attention to those screen enhancement spam emails and listening to those late-night “marital aid” radio commercials. And it’s obsessed with getting bigger.

From the technology crime bureau comes an unsettling report of an enterprising gentleman in Albany, NY who tried to get hot shots of ladies doing their business in a CVS bathroom with his iPhone, only to get busted by the cops.

Instagram is an app for the iPhone that let's you take a picture, add a few filter effects then upload the photo to the Instagram servers allowing people from around the world to view your photography work.
