When driving near 58th and Georgia lately it was highly noticed how fast they are moving on their new projects. We have the Chick-fil-A being built. They are working on that. Then there is the other food project.

From a seasoned Amarillo resident, I remember back in the day when we only had one Chick-fil-A location. My first introduction to this heavenly chicken was a trip to Westgate Mall. I remember it well.

We have been watching the locations near 58th and Georgia in Amarillo being built and watching as they open up. Finally, that area is getting some love. There is a Walmart, a couple of pizza places, gas stations, and a McDonald's.

Every time I drive by 58th and Georgia I am amazed how much it has grown. I remember when it was just empty fields all around. If you drive by it now you will see how much it has changed.

This task presented itself about a year or so ago. A few of my co-workers decided that our Friday lunch hangout would be Joe Taco in Downtown Amarillo. Heck it was walking distance from work. So that was a score.

This was a crazy weekend. My daughter came to town and I love it. We had a lot to do to get ready for an event next month. We had a long list of stuff to do. Our time was pretty much planned out. We were running crazy.

I can't say how long we have been waiting for this. I think the news broke sometime during last years Sod Poodles Season. You remember that team we have that got sidelined this year? Well just know we are finally getting a new place in Downtown Amarillo for tacos on Tuesday....or whenever.

Flour or corn tortilla, yeah, we can’t get enough. With the Incredible success of our Amarillo Sod Poodles the city is getting busy.

I hate writing about these closings. They seem to happen far too often.

Mom, what do you want for Mother's Day? Her her answer?  You know. "Don't buy me anything, I have everything I need." Then comes the family meeting to figure out what she really wants. Think about Mother's Day gifts  from Mother's Day past-ugh. Lottery tickets?  NASCAR t-shirts? Vacuum cleaner? Really? Let's get a game plan people.
