Parmalee, 'Carolina' – Song Review

"Polished" is not a word one would have used to describe Parmalee after the North Carolina foursome shared their debut single 'Musta Had a Good Time' in 2012, but the rowdy country rockers' follow-up single 'Carolina' is as radio-friendly of a track as you'll find. It's not clear that either style is a perfect fit for the Thomas brothers and their bandmates.

Fans of Clay Walker know him as a lot of great things, but 'outlaw' is not one of them. It's a fair question for people to ask if his new single, 'Jesse James,' is sung with tongue loosely planted in cheek. One leans towards yes after checking out the cover art. The hat is a little big, the pants a little too pressed. He's a cowboy if cowboys shopped at Banana Republic.

Scotty McCreery has just two weeks to go until he releases his debut album, ‘Clear as Day,’ so you can hardly blame the reigning ‘American Idol’ champ if he’s excited to talk about it.

Taste of Country caught up with McCreery to do just that recently, and he shared the inside scoop on the stories behind the album’s 12 tracks, which he promises will give listeners an honest picture of who he is. “I’m 17, and that’s me,” he insists. “This album’s gonna relate to that, and hopefully people like it. I’m really proud of what we’ve accomplished these last couple months.”

In this day and age, it's all but impossible for an artist to avoid having his or her music leaked before its official release -- a lesson Kelly Clarkson has recently learned all over again, thanks to a series of Web leaks offering fans an early glimpse of her upcoming album.

Weighing in with a new blog post at her site, Clarkson wrote, "Well ….. I get back in the states from a vacation and somehow like 50 of my songs are leaked on the Internet?! No point in getting angry because there’s nothing I can do so I hope y’all like the music. I can’t wait for everybody to hear my actual finished 5th album!"
