This is your chance to weigh in on the new music we play — and get an early taste of some great new songs. Last year, these two squared off on iTunes, when both band's albums were released on the same day. This week Casey Donahew toes the line against the dynamic duo of Granger Smith and Earl Dibbles Jr., in the RTX New Music Challenge.
Last weekend was the 6th Annual Lone Star Music Award Show, held in New Braunfels. If you didn't get to make it down, like me and you're wondering who won -- I've got all the winners, and what they won right here.
Well, if this just ain't the coolest thing I've seen in a while. Our good pal, Kyle Park, announced today that he will be playing with King George -- and what's more is, this show is his second to last concert, ever.
Alright, time for the RTX New Music Challenge. This is your chance to weigh in on the new music we play -- and get an early taste of some great new songs. Kyle Park kicked off 2014 snowboarding, mountain lion hunting, and rocking MusicFest 2014, in Steamboat Springs -- not things many Texans get to do, regularly anyway. Last week Kyle debuted his new music video for his latest single "Long Distance Relationship.
The fourth Annual Texas Regional Radio Music Awards were held over the weekend in Durant, Okla. This year's big winners included Cody Johnson, Bri Bagwell, and Randy Rogers Band. Brandon Rhyder has got a great new single out called, "Leave." In fact, last summer we debuted it on Radio Texas, LIVE! as then just an album cut. What had happened was Brandon and I had wrapped up the interview and before he left he was telling me about "Leave," he ended up playing it for me, I liked it so much I asked if we could go back on air and play it -- Brandon obliged.
From his home in New Braunfels, TX, Cody Canada and his dog, Marvin, took to social media, today, to thank fans for their continued support. He also says to keep comin' out to shows, and to expect a new Departed album very soon.
Thank Goodness for Twitter, right? Still not sure of the when, where, why or how -- but according to Robert Earl Keen's official Twitter (the one with the blue check), he has officially broken his foot.
