This is an argument that has been in the public eye for quite some time now. Should parents spank their children? If your child is misbehaving, acting in a manor that might end up in their own serious injury, should a parent spank that child? Many people (these days) think that spanking a child is out of the realm of what is acceptable.

A Texas mother Rosaline Gonzales, of Corpus Christi, was sentenced after she plead guilty to charges of Injury to a child. She plead, after a deal was reached with prosecutors and now must take parenting classes and pay a $50 fine to the Children’s Advocacy Center.

Judge Jose Longoria admonished Rosaline saying “You don’t spank children today, In the old days maybe we got spanked, but there was a different quarrel. You don’t spank children.”

Reports say that Rosaline Gonzales was arrested after her mother found red marks on the girl’s behind.

So, was this judge correct? Should we as a whole never spank a child, or in some cases should parents spank their children?
