The local chapter of the Salvation Army does a lot for the community including providing meals and shelter.  But this summer they really need your help.  They are in desperate need of bottled water.

Every season the needs for the Salvation Army changes.  They help out so many people in the community and right now they are in need of bottled water.  The summer is just beginning and the temperatures have reached record highs.

The warehouse is usually full and right now there are only four pallets left.  The main concern is the possibility of fire or need of a relief station.  If either one of these events happen, the water they have would only last two days to a week.

Providing water is a major part of their operation, during wildfires for victims and emergency responders, and during the extreme summer heat, to provide the homeless population with a cool down.

If you would like to donate to the cause, you can drop it off at the Salvation Army's headquarters at 1211 SE 27th Ave in Amarillo.  And if you would like to be extra generous and give a larger amount, the Salvation Army can arranged for the water to be picked up.  For more information or to arrange a pickup, you can call Kenny Freeman at 379-8482 or 373-5544.

All donations are used to help the community.
