This summer Amarillo has seen some super high temperatures, thus causing us to go into a drought.  But with recent rain, the city of Amarillo has lifted the voluntary water restrictions.

With hot temperatures and not a lot of rain, the city issued a voluntary water conservation plan.  This was aimed at residents and businesses alike.

In July, water consumption was high enough for the city enter its Stage 1 of its Drought Contingency Plan.  This included the voluntary restrictions.

But things have been looking up.  Over the past couple weeks, residents have been observing the restrictions enough that the city has lifted the voluntary restrictions.  Now this doesn't mean that we are free and clear, it just means that we aren't critical at the moment.

The city of Amarillo suggests conserving water all year long.
