While their performance of ‘Crazy Girl’ at the 2011 American Country Awards may have been the Eli Young Band‘s first at a major country music award show, it sure didn’t look like it. The Texas based quartet took the stage like old pros and the live audience ate it up.

The performance began with lead singer Mike Eli appearing alone on the dark stage. He sang the first few lyrics before the lights flashed on, illuminating his bandmates. Eli walked the catwalk shaking hands with fans and smiling at the camera. He didn’t have much room to roam as this stage is considerably smaller than those used for other award shows. Their performance was cut a little short by commercials; it appears the 2011 ACA’s must have been running a touch behind schedule.

The Lee Brice-penned ‘Crazy Girl’ was a No. 1 for the Eli Young Band. The band was up for Breakthrough Artist of the Year, but lost the award to Chris Young earlier in the night. Fans were able to sound off their votes by Nov. 11 for all categories but Artist of the Year.
