‘The Killing’ Final Season Poster: Seattle Sky Stays the Same

Last week gave us a disciplined new look at the fourth and final season of ’The Killing‘ on Netflix in the form of Joan Allen’s military school character, but those seeking Linden herself need only look to the Seattle skyline. The pretty new one-sheet poster for ‘The Killing’ has arrived, as moody and rain-soaked as ever.

TVLine debuted the final artwork for the Seattle-set series, which hearkens back to the iconic opening credits image of Linden (Mireille Enos) set against the Seattle skyline, seeming as overcast as ever. If nothing else, a new chat with showrunner Veena Sud confirmed that season 4 is intended as the final act of the series, answering any lingering questions of Linden’s history with the tagline “The Past Can’t Be Washed Away”:

This final case is more symbolic of Linden’s journey and the question that [she's been asking] her entire life as a cop, which is, “Who is the bad guy?” Her ethic for her whole entire life as a cop has been the world has to be black and white. There has to be good guys, there has to be bad guys. There has to be a clear vision of justice in this world. And clearly there is not. Clearly there is a monster in all of us.

Set amid a military school murder mystery, the final season of ‘The Killing’ also features student roles for Sterling Beaumon and Levi Meaden, along with an appearance by Sarah’s mother, as played by Frances Fisher. The new run of episodes will see what became of the relationship between Holder and Linden after the season 3 cliffhanger of “From Up Here/The Road to Hamelin” saw the latter gunning down her serial-killing former partner in cold blood against Holder’s advice.

We’ll hopefully have a full trailer for the final season soon, but in the meantime, check out ‘The Killing’ season 4 in the pretty new poster below, and tell us what you want to see when all six episodes premiere August 1!
