The Suspect From A Shooting In South Amarillo Is On The Loose, APD Needs Your Help Locating The Shooter

Today on S. Western St. in Amarillo there was a shooting. The suspect is still on the loose, the APD is asking for your help locating the suspect.

At 7:00 pm the Amarillo Police Department issued a statement on a shooting that happened on S. Western St. Around 4:47 pm officers were dispatched to Amarillo Gold and Silver on a shooting call.

When officers arrived at the scene they found one man lying on the ground with one or more gunshot wounds. The APD released this statement about the shooter still at large:

Initial information is that the suspect was a white male with a mustache who left the area driving a silver/gray larger type SUV such as a Ford Excursion or Chevrolet Suburban.

Currently officers are at the scene trying to determine the cause of the shooting. The victim has been taken to a local hospital. If you have information about the shooting you are asked to call Amarillo Crime Stoppers at 374-4400.
