It's voting season in Texas. In fact, we're only one week away from Super Tuesday.  In order to vote this year, you must have an approved ID.  Read to find out what IDs are legal.

People in Texas are typically passionate about voting and making their voices heard. That's why there was a huge turnout to early voting and will probably be a swarm at the polls on Super Tuesday.

(PSA: Super Tuesday is March 1st, when the Texas primary takes place)

Thanks to a new state law, you must present an ID when you vote. This is to curtail voter fraud (you know, when dead people vote?).  Here's a list of acceptable IDs:

  • Texas driver license issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS)
  • Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by DPS
  • Texas personal identification card issued by DPS
  • Texas license to carry a handgun issued by DPS
  • United States military identification card containing the person’s photograph
  • United States citizenship certificate containing the person’s photograph
  • United States passport
