Aaron Watson, the Honky Tonk Kid, will be live on stage Friday night at Midnight Rodeo. The Amarillo native returns to his home town this weekend to provide quality entertainment for old friends, family, and of course fans.

Growing up in Amarillo, long before he'd ever picked up a guitar or written a song, the national pastime was the focus of young Watson's life.

"If you had asked me back then what I was going to be, I would have said, 'Short stop for the Houston Astros,'" he laughs. "Then I woke up one day and realized I was the most incredibly average player on the face of God's green earth. But I got a long way on work ethic and fundamentals.
