This week, West Texas A&M University President Dr. Pat O'Brien announced that he will retire at the end of this year.

Dr. O'Brien is the 10th president of WT and has been serving for ten years. Under his leadership, the university's enrollment increased by almost 30%, WT achieved accreditation in multiple areas, and several college were started, including the School of Engineering and Computer Science.

There hasn't been any information released about who might fill O'Brien's spot.

In an email to everyone at WT, O'Brien thanked the university and expressed that it would always hold a special place in his heart.
