‘Breaking Bad’ Star Aaron Paul Could Join Ridley Scott’s ‘Exodus’ Along with Sigourney Weaver, Ben Kingsley and John Turturro

Ridley Scott‘s ‘Exodus‘ is looking to have an all-star cast. Besides Christian Bale and possibly Joel Edgerton, Aaron Paul is now in negotiations to join the cast along with ‘Iron Man 3‘ star Ben Kingsley, while ‘Alien’ alum Sigourney Weaver and John Turturro have officially signed on.

This news comes from Variety, and where Aaron Paul’s ‘Breaking Bad‘ costar Bryan Cranston has kept himself busy in movies playing supporting roles when not portraying Walter White, Paul has been slower to move into cinema, though his turn in ‘Smashed’ last year got good notices, and between this role and his upcoming ‘Need for Speed‘ he’s positioning himself to be a full fledged movie star in a couple of years (unless he gets Taylor Kitsch‘d). As Variety notes, Paul would play “the Hebrew slave Joshua who goes on to lead the people onto the promised land after Moses.”

Also exciting is Ridley Scott reuniting with his ‘Alien’ leading lady Sigourney Weaver, though this might have more spark if the duo hadn’t worked together on 1992′s ’1492: Conquest of Paradise’ — which history has mostly forgotten. This would be the first time Turturro has worked with Ridley Scott, though he did work with Ridley’s late brother Tony on ‘The Taking of the Pelham 1 2 3′ remake in 2009. Weaver and Turturro have been cast as parents of the pharaoh Ramses (to be played by Edgerton). While Ben Kingsley is in talks to play a Hebrew scholar, according to Deadline.

Shooting is scheduled to start this September, which means if it’s good, it could be an awards contender in 2014.
