Be Aware! Amarillo Police Are Warning Locals Of New Phone Scam Targeting Credit Union Account Holders
The Amarillo Police Department are warning folks in Amarillo about a current phone scam that is going on.
Police are reporting that this afternoon 20 people have been contacted by phone or text from a phone number with an 806 area code, claiming that their Mastercard has been compromised.
They are then told to call a 24-hour number and leave provide their credit card number.
People targeted are those who have an account with the Amarillo Federal Credit Union.
The Police are urging that you do not give out any personal information about credit cards or accounts that you have.
Please be VERY wary of these calls.
