We all have them...Those weird relatives that we'd rather not spend anymore time with than holidays and the occasional funeral or wedding. But, it could pay, literally, to be buddy buddy with the odd ball in the family according to this  story on MSN.com !

She was the original Paris Hilton, the insanely rich kid who's job it was just to be fabulous. But in the end gave it all up, and none of it to her family.

The daughter of a disgraced former U.S. senator, Huguette Clark inherited millions from the Montana copper mines, and has lived a solitary life while her three fabulous homes sit empty: a $100 million estate on the Pacific Coast in Santa Barbara, a $24 million country house in Connecticut and a $100 million co-op, the largest apartment on Fifth Avenue overlooking Central Park — all immaculately kept but unoccupied for decades.

But the story of the poor little rich girl gets even weirder...

Clark died at the age of 104 in May, leaving Peri, a private nurse from Brooklyn, a rich woman -- $34 million to be exact, in addition to a valuable doll collection. Legal papers showed Clark's fortune to be $400 million, $14 million of which went to a god-daughter, but none to distant relatives. In her will. The heiress cited her longtime nurse as a "loyal friend and companion.

The nurse may have been her only friend and companion because for the past 2 decaded Clark chose to live a small, quite life as a recluse. Having only been married once for a very short time and no kids Clark lived a life of solitude.

Clark chose to live at Beth Israel Hospital, in an unmarked room, living under pseudonyms, leaving her gorgeous estates empty for years. Her remaining family members did not even know where she was, only her attorney, Wallace Bock, and accountant, a felon, Irving H. Kamsler
So maybe it's true what they say, money CAN'T buy happiness. But, if you're hoping to try and prove that wrong with a big fat chunk of change you inherit ya better start sucking up now ;)
