Jason Aldean’s My Kinda Party Tour Continues to Break Records
The southern country rocker’s recent shows at New York’s IZOD Center and Charolettsville, Va.’s John Paul Jones Arena helped bring his attendance record to a new level. Aldean has now reached his 13th milestone of exceeding ticket sales for his 2012 performances, marking a total of 18 shows sold out on his current My Kinda Party Tour.
Other sold out shows over the past few weeks have included Rodeo Houston at Reliant Stadium, where he set the all-time record with 74,901 fans. His show at the IZOD Center, however, set a new record in the venue’s country music concert history after Aldean packed in more than 19,000 fans, which exceeded Shania Twain‘s previous record of 15,749 back in 2003.
“These last few months on the road have been unbelievable, and the crowds this weekend were killer,” says Aldean. “We are off to Vegas next for the ACMs, and will hopefully have a little luck on and off the blackjack tables!”
At this year’s ACM Awards, Aldean is up for six nominations, including second-consecutive nods for Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year. The Entertainer of the Year winner is once again determined by fan voting, which is taking place now through the show’s live broadcast on CBS on Sunday, April 1 at 8:00PM ET.
